Transitional Living Program
A second chance might be all you need.
The Youth & Family Services Transitional Living Program is for homeless youth between 18 and 22 years old who need a hand up, not a hand out. After being accepted into the program and showing a desire to succeed, these young adults are provided the basic needs of housing, food and safety. The participants focus on education and employment while learning skills such as:
Health and general safety
Consumer education such as meal planning
Accessing medical, mental health and dental care
Problem-solving, stress management and establishing short and long-term goals
Money management
Child health and safety including parenting skills (if the participant is a parent)
Community life and how to form healthy interpersonal relationships/friendships.
Upon completion, these adults are self-sufficient members of our community with education, employment and personal goals to pursue, with the ability to achieve them.
“There is always a moment in childhood when the door opens and lets the future in.”
