We are seeing more and more teenagers without a long-term, stable place to live and we want to help fix that.
Children who routinely sleep at their friends’ houses are called “Couch-Surfers”.
This year Youth and Family Services applied for and received an expansion grant for their current Transitional Living Program. This grant will allow for children ages sixteen to seventeen to participate in the residential Transitional Living Program, which was initially limited to young adults over the age of eighteen. With this expansion, sixteen to twenty-two year-olds will be provided with shelter, case management, counseling, and job and life skills.
